Training and Education
Gilt offers training and education courses for industry participants and investors seeking to develop their knowledge in fixed income markets. The Gilt Training and Education Program has been specifically developed for Clients to introduce, refresh and upskill participants about the characteristics of the primary and secondary fixed income market, different forms of fixed income and money market security, valuation techniques and portfolio management principles and practices.
The Training Program comprises two modules. An Introductory Program and an Advanced Program. We also offer courses to Clients seeking tailored Programs that respond to Specific Training Needs.
Client Specific Training

Introductory Program
The Introductory Program is a 5-business day training course commencing in the 2023 calendar year that will be offered annually to Clients. Gilt will contact Clients to determine the level of interest in course participation each year and subject to acceptance, will then work with Clients to determine a suitable local venue and mutually convenient dates for the proposed Program.
The 5-day Introductory course comprises 4 days of theoretical instruction with the 5th day being reserved to upskill participants in the practical application of theory taught throughout the Introductory course.
At the end of the Introductory course, participants will understand:
- the structure and function of the primary and secondary fixed income markets
- the similarities and differences between common fixed income products
- how the market is regulated
- factors that impact the pricing of fixed income securities
- fixed income risks and risk evaluation
- benefits of portfolio diversification
- introduction to fixed income valuation
- valuation methods for different types of debt security
Advanced Program
The Advanced Program is a 5-business day training course commencing in the 2024 calendar year that will be offered annually to Clients and held at the United Services Club at 183 Wickham Terrace Spring Hill QLD 4000, Australia.
The Advanced Course is suitable for those who have previously attended the Introductory Course or for those participants who are already familiar with more advanced valuation and risk management evaluation techniques such as senior dealers, investment managers, finance officers, department managers, accountants and portfolio managers.
Gilt will contact Clients to determine the level of interest in course participation each year and subject to acceptance, will then work with Clients to determine
mutually convenient dates
to host and attend the proposed Program.
